Labor Day weekend is upon us. If you haven’t figured out how you want to spend your first three-day weekend of the school year, why not fit in a quick road trip. If packing your bags and heading to the beach, the mountains, or a lake sounds like fun, consider one of the following weekend getaways.

Crystal Crane Hot Springs is located in southeastern Oregon. Surrounded by grassy fields and a rolling landscape, the outdoor hot spring is a large pond that is 7 feet deep at the center. Its temperature sits at approximately 101 degrees, depending on the weather and it’s perfectly suited to families with kids of all ages.

If you are longing for the Ocean, Kalaloch Lodge is the perfect weekend getaway. Next, head down to Ruby Beach where you can play in the reddish sand that inspired this rocky beach’s name. You’ll love this destination so much you may want to return in October and November when the chances of seeing a whale in the Ocean waters increase.

Are the mountains calling you? Mt. Rainier is stunning during the fall months. The number of adventures to choose from in this gorgeous national park is endless. There are waterfall hikes, fishing holes, areas to climb, scenic bicycling routes and more. The roads to most all areas of the park are open until early October, so now is the time to get your deep-woods experience in.

Lodging options at Mt. Rainer vary from cabins outside of the park to camping inside the park and of course, you will want to consider a stay at the stunning Longmire Inn. The Inn offers up 25 cozy rooms a family-friendly dining establishment and a beautiful lounging area.
